Re: How many old school members still have a V6 f-body`

I had both of my birds since they were brand new. So you can say I've been a V6 Fbody owner for over 20 years.

I've had my '96 3.8L since 2000 and my '79 since '92. Many before that, but this is current.

I've had my 3.4 turbo charged camaro for about 12 years now and plan on keeping it for a long time. :burn:

I see you're just making a continuation of this thread from the other thread about "Why haven't you swapped yet?" and FWIW, I think most people; not all, but a lot swap merely because 8 cylinders are more desirable. I mean, let's face it. How many muscle car guys look for 6 cylinder 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gens? Not a whole lot. Nothing against a 6, I have one too, I'm just sayin' though. That's my .02.
If they come across a Grand National , I bet alot of the V8 guys would think twice about racing it. Its just what you have into it, if they see a 3.8/3.4 Camaro run low 12's and better times then their LS1 or LT1 , it will make them change their minds about V6 owners.
We just need more owners out racing and modding, I really hope mine is all ready for this winter thats when people really race in AZ due to the heat.

2000 Firebird - much faster than James' (12secondv6) old losermobile. James got so frustrated because he could never catch up to me that he sold his Firebird.

If I had a new body I would be done. I thought I was going to have help but that fell through. I should of been done last Dec. but its going in the shop for the P/P new heads, intakes , double roller etc. this next week then the turbo will go on, I'm going to go ahead and run as much PSI as I can get away with, .63 A/R is about max 15-18 PSI at 6000 RPMS since I know the heads should hold up well with the heat and the methanol injection should work well, I will run about 7 PSI in the heat and 12 PSI + this winter. I wasn't expecting to pay for the labor for the heads and stuff since I had worked out a deal, but oh well $500-600 in labor isn't bad, I think I'm going to leave the Comp OER's in there(Only 50,000 miles on them) incase I switch to a .82 housing and billet wheel and shift at 6500 rpms. Since I didn't buy a 2nd vehicle I have $6000 to put into it, billet wheel/.82 housing($500), built trans/stall($1600 installed local shop) and rearend($2800 9"). Also spare $400 L26 engine. I guess will see what goes first. Damm I always type alot , I guess being bored everyday gets to me.LOL

WTF... I wasn't even going to say anything in this thread. But then I get mentioned in it? Bad Wes! :twak:

And Steve, you do type a paragraph in almost every response. :P

But since I'm already in here... I'm not old school. But I do still have my V6 Fbody.
